Office of Provost Team Wins Gold Award at ICQCC 2016

A team from the Office of the Provost, NUS was given the opportunity to participate in the International Convention for Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2016, which was held in Bangkok from 23 to 26 August 2016. Organised by the Association of QC Headquarters of Thailand (QCHQ) and the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry, this conference provided a platform for quality experts and practitioners from all over the world to gather and share their knowledge and experience, and exchange ideas on global quality management. In particular, this conference aimed to promote up-to-date thoughts, contemporary models, trends, experiences and practices related to the application of Six Sigma, Productivity Improvement, TQM, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Control Circles, Small Group Activities, Process Management and Associated Quality Management aspects.

At this convention, the team presented their project, “UTown Scholarship & Bursary System’. This system is a pioneering IT application system developed to establish an e-solution that streamlines the students’ applications and administrative processes.  For this innovative project, the team received a Gold Award.
